JOB ADVERT FOR DAY CHEF (FULL-TIME) – Closing Date: 19th April 2017
“Some of the best vegan food London has to offer” – The Guardian (24.9.16)
Karamel – the Time Out award-winning venue and restaurant based in North London’s artistic community – is looking for a chef to run the kitchen during the day, plus two evenings a week.
You don’t need to hold a formal chef qualification to apply, although you do need to be an experienced cook with a keen interest in vegan cuisine.
This is a full-time post for 32 hours/week, spread over 4 days. (You get 3 consecutive days off)
Fixed Term Contract to 1st Sept 2017 (end of current agreement with our landlord, although we are in negotiations to renew)
Hourly rate £9.75 / hour. Annual salary £16,278
We open 5 days a week Wednesday-Sunday, and you MUST be able to work at these times:
WED: 11am-11pm (11 hours – 1 hour break at 4.30pm)
SAT: 11am-11pm (11 hours – 1 hour break at 4.30)
(Please note – on occasion you may need to work extra hours outside these times, e.g. to help with special events or to cover for colleagues).
You need to be a positive person – self-motivated, hard working, and most importantly, a team player. Karamel is very much a collaborative effort. We run a tight ship and expect every crew member to get stuck into their share of essential tasks like cleaning, mopping and washing up. This is all part of the job.
In return, we can offer an exciting opportunity to make your mark on the London scene, working with a friendly and supportive team, in an award-winning arts venue.
