Jazz at Karamel: Alex Merritt / Steve Fishwick Quartet

Tim Whitehead (Tenor), Jonathan Gee (Piano), Mick Sexton (Bass), Trevor Taylor (Drums)   Torus, a modern jazz quartet that operated around Essex in the 1980s originally comprising Gary Plumley (saxophones), Pete Jacobsen (piano), Mick Sexton (bass) and Trevor Taylor (drums) reformed over Summer 2011 for a retrospective celebrating the music of that period from Steps Ahead (Mainieri, Grolnick, Brecker), Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea.   The band still gets together on frequent occasions to celebrate great jazz from that period.…
